About Young Generation

Through the programme, participants deepen their knowledge of nuclear energy and the wider energy sector while connecting with peers from across the industry. Young Generation also promotes knowledge sharing between generations, creating opportunities for experienced professionals and emerging talent to learn from one another.

Founded in Sweden in 1994, Young Generation has grown into a global network with participants from more than 50 countries. Today, it is a vibrant community where the next generation of nuclear professionals builds connections, shares ideas, and helps shape the future of the industry.

A Network Building the Future

Young Generation collaborates with SKS (Swedish Nuclear Society), which aims to promote technological and scientific development within the field of nuclear technology. SKS is also connected to the European Nuclear Society (ENS), an international network with around 20,000 members across 22 countries.

Young Generation – A European Movement

The interest in Young Generation has grown far beyond Sweden’s borders. Through an initiative by ENS, the ENS Young Generation Network (ENSYGN) was established, bringing together representatives from 21 European countries. ENS recognizes the importance of investing in the next generation of nuclear professionals, and the ENSYGN Chair is therefore also represented on the ENS Steering Committee.

ENSYGN provides young professionals across Europe with opportunities to connect, exchange experiences, and contribute to the continued development of the nuclear industry and future energy systems.
